Jack McCrossan and his roommates really wanted to adopt a dog, but their landlord would not budge. They lived in an apartment in the United Kingdom that was not pet-friendly, so the friends came up with an idea to embrace their love of dogs.
One day, the guys noticed a sweet dog looking out the window of their neighbor’s home. The clever friends wrote a note to their neighbor and offered to help with her pooch. In the note, they stated:The other day, we noticed a four-legged friend looking at us out the window when we arrived home from work. He or she looked like the goodest boy or girl there is. If you ever need someone to walk him/her, we will gladly do so.
If you ever get bored (we know you never will, but we can dream) we are more than happy to look after him/her. If you want to come over and bring him/her to brighten our day, you are more than welcome. If you want to walk past our balcony windows so we can see him/her, please do.
The guys sat back and waited, hoping the neighbor would respond. Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine the dog would write them a letter in return. The note had a paw stamp on it and was addressed to “The Boys.” The reply stated:
“What a treat it was to receive your letter. I love meeting new people and it would be great if we can be friends. I must warn you that the price of my friendship is 5 x ball throws a day and belly scritches whenever I demand them.”
The reply was actually “written” by the dog’s owner, Sarah Tolman. The guys found out the real name of the pooch is Stevie Ticks!
McCrossan took to Twitter to share the letter and reply, and soon dog lovers from around the world shared how much they loved seeing such kindness.
Stevie Ticks got to hang out with the gang, and Tolman told BuzzFeed News, “We could hear her thundering around through the walls, and she obviously enjoyed herself, as when they dropped her back home she sat whining at the door and window for hours afterwards.”
