Boncuk, a devoted, loving dog, spent his days waiting outside a hospital where his owner was receiving treatment.Boncuk followed the ambulance that brought his owner, Cemal Şentürk, to a hospital where he made frequent visits — waiting by the hospital’s door.
Cemal was then released from the hospital and Boncuk was overjoyed to have his dad back home with him for good. When Cemal Şentürk was brought to the hospital for treatment, Boncuk, his ever-loyal dog, decided to look after him, only that he got to stay outside the hospital where he patiently waited.
It had been a full week since Cemal was staying at the Medical Park Trabzon Karadeniz Hospital, and not a day went by that Boncuk missed “visiting” Cemal. He has usually arrived at 9 AM and stayed until late evening, in sheer anticipation of Cemal’s release.Cemal’s relatives tried to take Boncuk home, but it seemed like he has made up his mind to be near his owner and wait for him, no matter how long it takes.
“Even if we take him home, he runs away and comes here, waiting for my father,” Aynur Egeli, Cemal’s daughter said in an interview with Turkish news outlet DHA.
According to the hospital staff, Boncuk is a nice, well-behaved dog, who never bothered anyone. He simply and quietly waited by the door, hoping to see his dad.
This kind of dog loyalty melted the hearts of the staff in the hospital. They made sure to feed Boncuk and enliven his spirits up.
The staff then arranged a mini reunion between Cemal and Boncuk, where Boncuk could finally see his dad!
It was truly a sight to behold, a love between a master and a dog, when Boncuk’s efforts finally paid off. He was able to see Cemal and he became a completely different dog: happy and full of excitement, for the first time in days!
“Boncuk has been with me for nine years. I miss him too. He’s already used to me. Sometimes I call him from the window, then he calms down a little more here,” Cemal said.
The Independent said that Cemal was released from the hospital on Wednesday. Boncuk was overjoyed to have his dad back home with him for good.
