A dog named Blacky got a biker’s attention to help save a baby abandoned in a dumpsite.That act led for the baby girl to be put under the government’s care.Blacky has since then gained overwhelming support from the local community, giving him and his struggling family food donations and pet supplies.How this dog sensed that someone needed help is just fascinating.In December, Junrell Fuentes Revilla was riding his motorcycle through the mountains near Cebu, Philippines when a dog came running after him and kept on barking.
Seemingly desperate to get the biker’s attention, the dog barked like he was trying to tell him something, making Junrell stop his motorcycle.He then approached the pup and it led him to a dumpsite. To his surprise, “he found a baby wrapped in a brown towel,” Gea Ybarita, a staff member at Hope for Strays, told The Dodo. “The location where the baby was found is isolated since it’s on the top of the mountain.”
Junrell immediately took the baby and rushed it to the nearest police station. Representatives of the Department of Social Welfare later stepped in to help in keeping the baby.
If not for the dog’s instinct, the baby might have had lost the chance to live.
The heroism of the pup went all over the local news. Hope for Strays volunteers rushed to the mountains in hopes to find the dog. They later on came across a man who claimed as Blacky’s owner.
“He showed us the way to his home and to our surprise, Blacky was there with three other dogs,” Gea said. “We’ve confirmed he is not a stray at all.”
Although the rescue workers were relieved that Blacky had a caring home, they were still concerned for Blacky’s owner who needed help to support their daily needs.
As Gea shared, Blacky’s owner stated, “No matter how hard life is, even though I’m poor, I feed all of my dogs and take care of them well.”
Ever since that valiant act, Blacky’s family has received overflowing support from the community, such as donations of food and pet supplies.
No doubt, our hero dog has detoured his family’s life, and that of the baby girl, to a much brighter path.
