“Are you a cat person, or a dog person?” It’s a very common question that most people get asked, and most of the time it causes a divide. There does exist some unspoken rules about your preference of domestic animal – not only could it potentially alter the course of your life (as in the first date example), but also it instantly puts you in one of the two schools of life: that of pups, or that of cats – and it stays with you forever.
Enter Dúi – the adorable pup who also resembles a cat – he may indeed be the long-needed answer to the eternal split between dog and cat people. He’s already caused quite a stir online with people sharing conspiracy theories about the breed of this cute puppy. One user claimed “he looks like a cartoon,” and another insisted “it’s a H’mong dog breed.” User u/ryliky confessed that “I don’t care if it’s a cat or a dog. It’s a cuddly gud boi and I want it.”

Some have speculated that it is a hybrid between a corgi and a local Vietnamese breed called Hmong
The Hmong is an ancient breed of Vietnamese native dog originally used by the ethnic people in the area. They are considered great for hunting and as guard dogs as they have amazing strength and intelligence. They are known for their cute docked tail and squishy faces.
So, is Dúi a cat or a dog?
Well as the owner explained:
And finally, the moment of truth has arrived: is Dúi a cat or a dog? Hai Anh explained that “he is a mix of a native dog breed and a short-legged dog called Dingo. But I think he might have a gene mutation too making him look like some sort of corgi mix. I bought him in a mountain province in Vietnam.”
This mixed breed dog is a happy-go-lucky one and “like every puppy, he likes playing with both humans and dog friends. He is really sweet and funny!” The pictures don’t lie!
