Meet Blaze, The Worlds First Ever Multi-Colored Labrador

Everyone, meet Blaze, a ten-year-old pure multi-colored Labrador retriever from Finland. He’s very playful, loves the outdoors and is like any other regular Lab… except for one difference.Blaze was born with a normal full black coat that stayed with him for most his life. One day, when Blaze started to enter his senior years, he began to develop white patches around his muzzle.

His family just assumed this was part of the natural aging process. His graying face did’nt slow him down one bit. He was still the same lab who loved jumping around in the snow, swimming in lakes and running through the woods. But then, slowly, his parents started to noticed white patches of fur around his ears, and this kept spreading.

“The white color began spreading from a small spot on his ear.”

“At first, we thought it was just aging, but the white color started to come more and more month by month,” Santeri Frilander, Blaze’s dad, told The Dodo. “Other dogs in the same litter have remained one color.”

The white fur had nearly covered Blaze’s whole face, spreading down to his shoulders and legs. Santeri then realized that it wasn’t just age that was changing Blaze’s coat — it was a skin condition called vitiligo.

Regardless of the condition Santeri, said it doesn’t stop Blaze from enjoying his to the fullest.

He’s still healthy, he’s still full of energy, and he still wants to go everywhere.

“Interestingly, all of his brothers and sisters still remain single-colored”
