Stray cat is befriended by a lady who feeds her and in time finds out the cat is pregnant.Cat gives birth and brings her scraggly kittens to the lady who calls the rescue center.Kittens suffered from conjunctivitis and difficulty breathing but are now healed and ready for adoption.The cat was a stray who Lisianne initially gave a bowl of food and water in her yard in Quebec, Canada.From then on, the fluffy black cat who Lisianne named Usagi started coming to her regularly.

With constant feeding, the cat started gaining weight. But Lisianne realized that it was not just the food that was making Usagi’s belly grow, but Usagi was having babies.According to a local rescue group, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, “With this routine, the lady gained confidence and the kitty started getting close. The kitty gave birth outside, but she came back every day to eat.”

One day, Usagi brought her little family one by one and lined them up on Lisianne’s porch. Usagi’s tiny carbon copies were obviously in need of help and so Lisianne wheedled Usagi to bring her kittens inside and informed Chatons Orphelins Montréal.

Rescue workers found out that Usagi’s call for help was just in time for rescue workers discovered that the kittens had difficulty breathing and were suffering from conjunctivitis. With proper treatment from the vet, the kittens were able to recover quickly. Under their care, they also learned to be around humans.

Chatons Orphelins Montréal said, “The babies were reserved, they needed socialization. They started trusting and coming out of their shell. The little ones love having fun together.”

With both mom and the kids safe, “[Lisianne] decided to keep the mom [and] treated and spayed her and one of her friends took one of the kittens under her wing.”

With one having found a forever home, Usagi’s five remaining kittens are still up for adoption. Lisianne and the Chatons Orphelins Montréal are hoping that they would also find comfort and caring in their forever homes.
