Fay and Dionisis, a young couple from Athens, Greece, walk their rescue dog, Meli, three times per day. And on those walks they feed 30 stray cats. But the cats won’t take the food unless the dog is with them! That speaks to the incredible bond the rescue pup has created with the strays.
The couple has worked on controlling the cat population in the area by neutering as many as possible (around 99%) and keeping the neighborhood clean by using dry cat food. Some neighbors used to give them a hard time, but once they realized the steps they were taking to do it the right way, they became accepting of it.
Fay and Dionisis are both founding members of SCARS, a Greek charity involved in cat rescue.
